The Colca Canyon is almost twice as deep as the US’ Grand Canyon, I have always wanted to trek it. When I arrived I was told that the Condor’s are nesting at this time of the year and therefore it would be very unlikely to catch a glimpse of these amazing birds in their natural habitat. A Condor’s wingspan is about 3 metres long and they are known here in Peru as “The Spirit of the Andes”. I was over the moon, to say the least when two came into my sight, here’s a short 2:30 min video I took of that day.
